- Yep. The Baghdad battery. Very curious object.
-
- Once upon a time, this very adventurous baby elephant found this wonderful
- all-in-one laptop with pentium and all, which even glowed and blinked in the
- dark! So he brought it home to show Daddy. But Daddy said,
-
- 'Ah, throw it away my son. Hasn't Daddy made enough toys and tables and chairs
- for you? We don't need more silly rocks to clutter up the house.'
-
- 'But daddy, it blinks in the dark!'
-
- Daddy took a closer look, and thought, damn, it does!
-
- 'Well, go put it in the storeroom. I'l see if we can use it to light up the
- back garden.'
-
- Daddy sneakily fiddled around with that silly rock in the darkest corner of
- his garage, poked here poked there with his very prominent trunk, even took it
- apart. Couldn't figure it out. His elephanthood very threatened. So the silly
- rock got packed away.
-
- Next day, baby asked in excitement,
- 'So daddy, what is it?'
-
- 'Oh, that, well, nothing. Just some dead fireflies stuck on the rock, probably
- got squashed by one of us.'`
